(Chicago, IL) September 15, 2022 – Medix, a national organization specialized in workforce solutions and recruiting skilled personnel for clients in the Healthcare, Life Sciences, Engineering and Technology industries, announced Tori Bell and Ana Mendez Baez as the recipients of the 2022 Talentomorrow Talent Scholarship. The scholarship program, part of the joint Medix and Talentoday foundation, Talentomorrow, is aimed at supporting staffing talent in their educational endeavors.
“I am genuinely inspired by the stories of this year’s scholarship recipients,” said Andrew Limouris, President and CEO of Medix. “Talentomorrow’s mission is to positively impact and empower the lives of people to achieve their true potential. Tori and Ana embody the never-give-up spirit that makes Medix talent special. I cannot wait to see where their careers take them next.”
Over 250 current and former Medix talent applied for this year’s scholarship program. In order to qualify for the scholarship, applicants had to be in good standing and pursuing a form of higher education, such as college, trade school or a certification program. After a thorough vetting process, Ana and Tori were selected as scholarship recipients.
“For me, this Talentomorrow Talent Scholarship means that I can dream bigger, regardless of what the world tells me to do,” says recipient Tori Bell. Currently enrolled at Concordia University in Texas, Tori has aspirations of becoming a nurse. She was inspired to apply for the Talentomorrow Talent Scholarship after the death of her younger brother, Hassani. “I applied for this scholarship not only for myself, but also for Hassani. One of his biggest accomplishments while he was here was being able to win a scholarship so he could go to college,” said Tori. “My goal is to embody everything that he stood for and to do my best to achieve those things. This scholarship gets me one step closer to a career as a nurse.”
For scholarship recipient Ana Mendez Baez, working as an interpreter through Medix opened the door to learning about becoming a registered nurse. “Working for Medix has led me to work with and meet such wonderful people,” said Ana. “The registered nurses were always so helpful and didn’t mind me asking them questions.” A mother of three boys, Ana plans to use her scholarship funds to continue her nursing education. When speaking of her children, she said, “I want them to look back and know that they were loved and that their mother never gave up on a better future for them.”
